When I first saw Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea (Imagina 1994), I was shocked and amazed. It was the first time I had seen 3D humanoid characters that didn' t look like colorful boxes and spheres.:)
I learned that the company author of this project was Gribouille, and that it was established right in my town (Aix en Provence).Didn' t hesitate a second, I rushed there to see how these fabulous characters were created. The office looked like the inside of a submarine, dark corridors overhug with a metal mezzanine, lights from machines flashing and hard disks scraching.Yes,it sounds just like a small usual setup from today but at the time, I was more than impressed. They had a bunch of SGIs and a Cyberware camera which at that time was the first one in France.I then managed to do a training course there, I had the opportunity to meet very qualified people who tought me the art of 3D animation. Since then I got specialized in creating 3D characters and it has become a passion. All of the images you can see on this site are my work, they were all made with Softimage 3D/XSI, photoshop, Shake, and other packages. I have been working in this industry since 1995, in companies such as The Mill, The Moving Picture Company, Pison, Animare, Gribouille. If you are interested in my work, you can find more details here or email me for a reel and more. |
